Why I No Longer Compare My Blog To Others

Why I No Longer Compare My Blog To Others

Hey my loves!

Recently I’ve been finding it a little difficult to fit into the blogging society. Please don’t get me wrong I love the blogging society so so much and each and every blogger in it. I think they all do an amazing job at what they do. I just find myself forever comparing my blog to others. Worrying because I’ve never been invited to a fancy blogger event in London or because my followers and stats aren’t as high as others or because my pictures aren’t as good of quality as others. Then I had a realisation, a sudden change of thought.

We spend our whole lives trying to do our best at anything we love, not just blogging. But when do we stop and realise? actually we are doing amazing at what we do and whether it’s as good as someone else’s work is totally irrelevant. It’s time I learnt that I am not my fave blogger and my posts are completely different because they’re mine which I created. They have my personal touch and style. But that’s okay, I’m still good at what I do no matter what my views are or how many followers I have. You know why? Because I blog about what I want, It’s my blog. No one else’s. I blog for me just as much as I do for my readers. It’s my escapism and hopefully one day my career.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, if like me you’ve been feeling like your blog just isn’t good enough then don’t. Your blog is amazing and it shows who you are and what you enjoy. Keep working hard and your dreams will come a reality. Remember every blog is different. Just like no person is the same. We are born to be individual.

I hope you found this helpful and a little motivating!

A x

So very true! 💜 I’ve been rarely blogging and only doing it when I want to, and it’s been a lot more enjoyable.

I needed to read this so badly. Lately, I have just been down in the dumps about the lack of engagement and appreciation my blog has been shown, and for what? I’m doing what I love and that’s something that I need to accept and appreciate. Thank you for sharing xoxoxo

I really try to don’t compare my blog to others. It can be really hard but in the end you should blog because you love it and enjoy it and that’s the most important thing xx

I totally agree with you. At first I felt pressure to fit a certain expectation but now I write about whatever I want; even if it’s random. It makes blogging so much more enjoyable!

This is so true! We always measure ourselves against others and not our own feelings and achievements. Thank you for reminding us!

Actually I enjoy a personal touch on everything. No matter how helpful are some posts, sometimes I can see everyone repeating themselves but sometimes, some of them are adding a personal touch and that is what it makes that post interesting.
I am here for myself to write for others to read my posts but not to please them. Everyone chooses what to read or not to read and no matter what one can wrong another with anything. That is the reason I care but at the same time I don’t.
    Stay yourself 🙂
Have a nice weekend, Antidote 🙂

I know what you mean about comparing. I always feel like my blog isn’t good enough.

I have no idea how other people get so many views (OK maybe I do – they take decent photos and write about things that people actually find useful).

    But I still envy them.

For their views, not for the actual writing… …

Well, keep up the good work and let us know if you come up with any good tips!
